Just discovered a very useful and so far accurate web site. Its set up for gliders but I have found it very helpful.

Yep this site is good, it has just been updated too! It only used to give a nowcast, but the update now gives a forecast.

The best by far in my opinion is windguru. I have registered etc. and find being able to pin point your own location for a forecast is good. The forecasts in the near furure are very reliable. The same day forecasts are very accurate.

There are some links to weather sites on the links page on this website.

my favourite is http://www.metcheck.com
Put in the postcode of your venue or just go by county and get detail of 48 hours or up to 7 days
in 3 hourly intervals (click the day in 1-7 day view) and 8-14 days in less detail each day
Also online weather forum to find out what it's like at that moment anywhere.
It is pretty accurate and shows differences between Shearwater and here, 12 miles east over the Plain.
