If only it was the same story at Ranelagh!
Sarted over the start line about five times as I couldn't find enough wind to beat the tide then eventually turned the top mark and had and intimate attachement to a launch's anchor ropes. More embarrasing since I had just watched another boat to it in front of me. "I'll allow abit room" I thought - oh yea!!
Enjoyable time though.

Ah, yes reminds me of one race I had in Rozzer MR999 at Bourne End Week, fell into a hole just below the start line....the leading boats had actually come around and lapped us, before I even managed to cross the start line....which needless to say was right in front of the rather crowded clubhouse. The joys of river sailing!

Mind you....I have always wanted to sail at ranelagh....my father lived 10mins walk away for years....but it was whilst I was rowing, so I got to know the river really well....but never sailed there.

Any photos?

cheers
