Finn ownership

Post by alan williams »

I would like to offer Ed a warm welcome and a pork pie as he is now the owner of a classic Finn.
The Roadford classic Finn fleet is now up to 11.

Ah....yes.....well.....mmmm.....

caught out now....ur....

all a bit embarrassing....

I mean....when I said that "Sailing a Finn is like hammering nails into wood with the palm of your hand..."

At least we think it is a 'classic'.....but not really sure.

Looking forwards to some good fleet racing at Roadford.

cheers

I'm wishing I lived near Roadford - and that I had the time to get to one of the classic Finn circuit meetings.

I'm the only Finn Sailor in my Village!

I'm sure you'll love it Ed, you might even wish you'd kept Django! Tell us more about it. Will you be Finn sailing at Clywedog?

Lots of nice new Finns down here this last weekend...... sailed in the main by some very old helms! [oldest I believe was 86!] Maybe I should get a Finn then I'd feel right at home.

The Finn UK Masters is being hosted at Roadford from 10-12th Sept this year, and classic boats will be in evidence from the local fleet, those not mature enough in years are still welcome to compete on the Saturday and Sunday for what promises to be the start of the first of the events leading up to the 2012 Finn Festival to be held in Falmouth as a prelude the Olympic Regatta in Weymouth. Over a two week period the festival will take in the UK Nationals followed by the Gold Cup(Worlds) and with a slot allocated in between for the Classics.
Plans are already underway for a Classic Finn Open in Falmouth Next Summer so now is the time to get on board and start eating those pies...

The Roadford event would be three sailing weekends away from home in a row - its just not going to happen for me! (CVRDA nats, a cadet event at Calshot, and then Roadford).

But I am still very much enjoying my taylor GRP FInn in club Wednesday evening events.
