Roadford

Post by Nessa »

I may have to be in Cornwall next weekend. Who is taking what to Roadford? It would seem silly to come all that way nad not join in, but what to bring? (like choosing what to wear, but more fun)

I may be there for Friday night and Saturday. Not bringing a boat though may have to tart myself out (again) Unfortunately I have to work on Sunday.

Well, I am hoping to have the Holt Canoe....but maybe also a Minisprint.

If I get that ready....do you want to be re-united with it Roger :-)

Otherwise....I could get the Jollyboat ready and we could sail that together.....or even at a push tow up the Firefly if you could find crew or wanted to sail solo.

Lots of options though!

talk later

my choices are ToY, magnum 5 moth or woodie moth. I have never sailed the ToY and am probably not strong enough, but when does common sense ever come in to play? I have sailed the magnum 5.......badly....and can't get back in if I fall over. I am scared to sail the woodie in case I break it, but it does look my best bet in terms of manageability.

oh, and the kestrel mast also bit the bullet yesterday...

Ed,

Canoe sounds like a fun option with swimming included, the minisrpint if its blowing old boot, JB would be great as Ive never sailed one before. Check out the forecast see what you think nearer the time. Dont go to a load of hassle dragging the firefly out.

Nessa, sounds like a destruction derby at Hunts yesterday did you have a good day.

Sadly I'll be teaching all weekend.

Managed a race in the Minisail today before finding out that Charlie was poorly at home, so back now, keeping him company.

Nessa - take the ToY - plenty of open water meaning you can reach everywhere!

Very high stress component... If its suffering from bad glue failure you probably ought to take the whole thing to bits and replace every glue joint. Yes, easier said than done...

the duck tape fix was the cause of this weekend's failure. I need to do it properly this time :(

Hi Nessa
Any of your boats would be suitable, but I would really like to see the woody moth.
Cheers Al
PS
When I had Toy Fixed the Plank Carriage with epoxy and number 8 two half inch screws at 2inch intervals. The carriage then took my 16 stone at that time weight.

Hi Roger
Be good to see you. Would have like to see how a British Moth would perform at Roadford.
Cheers Al
