EISCA Boat, back on the water where it belongs

Still much to do, but after some essentials, carefully sailable.

Whilst I think 70 or more of the 90 EISCA sailing dinghies should never have been collected, we should thank the people connected with the EISCA in Eyemouth, Lowestoft, and Cardiff for their time and effort, in attempting to keep them all in as good a condition as time allowed. Many I'm sure will have been dismayed to see the break up of the wider collection. Hopefully some of the 90 will follow the above on to the water, probably after much work. Hopefully some class associations have grasped the opportunity to either acquire, or organise a good home for their prototype.

Sweeney Kincaid, I think, given the circumstances, objective and time/cost pressures of a liquidation sale, did a good job. Effort was put in to research and complete boats. The number of amendments showed a willingness to get things accurate. I thought their IT was effective, and collection was organised.

More to do to Jollyboat 43 than 71, but it will be some years before I have 2 fully finished boats.

Bravo!

You beat me by miles!

Very, very, glad to see this.

A propos Sweeney Kincaid, we were well treated in Eyemouth and they did very well to locate and hand over Flying Cloud's lugsail which we were collecting for T_G.

......and here's another one (on a smaller scale)

Collected from Lowestoft on Wednesday as a hull and mast, scrubbed up, borrowed a few bits and its back on the water winning club races today.

Yes its plastic but still a rare classic and plenty of life in it yet.
