Ian,

well said Sir - I'm glad someone started this latest string off. I'm about to fall into the festive season but wanted to wish one and all the very best of warm greetings for a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Years.

Fair Winds to one and all in 2007 - and see you at Netley

Ha! I went one better!

When I couldn't get past Q1 I thought "sod it" - it's all too difficult and instead went to do some Christmas Shopping (MUCH easier)

Pat,

aren't your resolutions the wrong way round. Surely it's 'get Pat sorted' and 'Varnish dry on the start line'!!

New Year Resolution (the only one) NO MORE MERLINS TO RESTORE - please hold me back should I show any tendencies to disobey this simple rule. (I did think about a Graduate on ebay at the moment though as it just happened to be in Edinburgh!!)

Pat - You will always cross the start line ahead of Sandy (that's what crews do!).

Best wishes to all who have contributed in any shape or form in the past year. It's great fun isn't it and so useful - none of you guys ever seem to be stuck for help and advice. Have a great time.

Hi all

Steve and I were invited to a preview of the new Llani dvd which we contributed to, it is an excellent buit of marketing. I have put linki to 3mion taster below, blink and you will miss the view of ff 1457 sailing away but a few mins on full film showing gaffer taped sails and pipe in full steam)

Merry christmas to all.

My resolution

To sneak some more into the stable maybe.

Finish what is already in there.

Hi Gary.

2 people who've got it wrong! There are always more Merlins to restore!

I thought of you today - the man on the Radio said it was a 'bit parky' up in Aberdeen this morning. Does this mean a tad chilly????

As for your comment on needing help - and your earlier exchanges on spreaders and mast settings - your attention is drawn to the Pegasus pictures on the home page. Take a look at the last one. That is a good example of what happens to 'older' rigs when the breeze comes.

So - longer spreaders!

Have a good one - catch up again in the New Year

Some seasonal wishes...

May you never trip over your futtocks
May your snotter never get tangled with your sprit.
And may your Turks head stay clear of your bollock blocks.
Don't confuse your knees with your ribs or your gooseneck with your breasthook.
And may your sculls stay in your rowlocks.

Happy Christmas to all.

(ps who said we're not silly?)

Rubbish, free chat? I suppose you get what you pay for. I am going back to reading my book about a panda who eats, shoots and leaves.

Well, 1/2 my fleet is now safely back in the garage (or in my dad's garage!). Only the Canoe, Fireball and Topper are still at the club ready foir Sailing. The Canoe will be home in a week or so.

Then I'll start realising how much work is needed before they are OK to sail agian.. :-( but I am gratefull for the advice, encouragement and general support to be found here on these pages!

Oh - and that Peggie with the bendy rig is now mine! I'm quite glad really - as although bendy its more controlable than it looks in that photo - and with the power available its good that a flexible rig allows power to bleed off in the gusts. Its how modern skiff rigs work (except that they will keep the botttom 2/3 rig stiffer).

The Quiz! I'm nowhere near most of the quesitons but am looking forward to learning from the answers!

Happy Christmas one and all..
