I am very much aiming to make it to Netley with J9. Is there a plan? Race times etc? Any other Jolly Boats attending?

Unfortunatly Emma Hamilton will not now be able to make it to Netley
We had a major mishap just off Netley last Sunday!

Hit something in the water whilst at speed and smashed a daggerboard through its case, we where unable to beach her before the hull flooded so over we went!

Image

major repairs now needed to port hull as we did even more damage dragging into shallow water to right her!

Anyone know a good GRP man?

Hi Steve Sorry to hear Emma's damaged thereis a really good guy for GRP work at Exmouth. I don,t have his number but he did a fanastic job on Graham Brookes Finn and has also just commpleted a repair for Graham on Rodney Patersons last FD. I'll ring Graham and get his number for you.

The guy Alan refers to is Chris Clack a one man band but very skilled and prices sensibly. His company is CPC Boatworks and his workshop is between Honiton and Sidmouth in Devon tel 07989232768 will find him.
As Alan says, I can thoroughly reccommend his work and his recent repair and respray of a modern carbon International 14 from Roadford shows that he is also good on the modern stuff.

Another Mercury? I thought the only surviving two were at BASC in Bristol. Yesterday I bought the last one built - number 101 and am thinking of bringing her down, after a swift mid-season refit. Be good if there was another one to race against.

Sadly an ongoing and costly car problem means that J9 will not be going to Netley.

Roger,

Okay - no problem - are you still staying on Saturday night?

Forecast for the weekend is SUN (as ordered - been saying that since April) but light breezes.

Nick C - hope I have a crew for you - a lightweight but with the forecast you have that will be a plus point!

Any veggies amoungst the hard cases staying for the Sat night? We're doing a BBQ, £5 a head but plenty of nosh - it means you can sit outside the club, drink, eat and watch the cruise ships on their scheduled departure.

Has to be done.

Dougal

PS - A quick 'roll call' of hopeful attendee's would be great - to allow us to organise the grub!
