Anyway back to the topic if i could just have a rough idea of what month people would like their event held in, then i could sort a rough calendar

Knowing how popular Clwedog is if I were you I would try and fill the bank holiday weekend in August if you can fit this in. The round the islands race sounds like fun.

Yes i think they will have been if not the saturday racer will be eaten first

Clyewdog have offered us the witsun weekend but i know you are keen to have this weekend. If you are able to do August then that would work well.

Ive had a few datas from people but theres still alot missing if people could just give me the month or 4week period that they think the event can be held on. this would be a great help

If i dont get anyreponse then it could be likely that we have many events at once with a large gap or even worse clashes in the calender

Thames SC (near Hampton Court) were keen to involve us in a vintage event - they did one this year but it was short notice. We're up there this weekend so I'll talk to them and see if we can get a date.
I'd like to try August Bank Hol at Brightlingsea - at least it should be wamer if not drier.

Shearwater is happy to do September/October as this year.
One of the boats at Shearwater came from upper Thames and are going to try and put something on I told them to contact you.

Pat - would you like me to start sounding out Brightlingsea for Aug BH?. On a technical note I think you might find the sea is warmer than fresh water especially after a period of rough weather. But there again those of us who never capsize never find this boring fact out! Can't gurantee air temp as that does depend on where the air is coming from but I would hope by late August its a darn site warmer than May.

I'll let you know as soon as I know what dates are available on our caleder. It will be a Saturday and Sunday Event, may be 2 races each day depending on the tides with one of the Sunday Races tagged on to the club race.

Let you know more when I have the knowledge.
