Classic and Vintage Regatta
Shearwater Sailing Club
May 7th and 8th

If your boat is over 25 years old of a class that dates before 1965 then come and join the weekend's fun.

Old boats - over 25 years
Classic boats - post war upto about 1965
Vintage boats - traditionally built ribbed and riveted boats (i.e. no glue!) mostly pre 1950

There is a special handicap system which allows for the age of the boat and its state of tune or modernisation. So for the best handicap sail a ribbed boat with wooden mast and old cotton sails. Why else do you think I sail Merlin no. 6 ?

Saturday
Friendly race 11.00am
then two afternoon races.
6.30 or 7.00ish evening hot meal and social in the clubhouse.**

Sunday
First race 11.00am
then either one or two races in the afternoon followed by tea and prizegiving.

Cost for the weekend £10 or a fiver per day

Large Baquettes available at lunchtimes, £1.60. hot drinks etc
Saturday meal £5.00 which includes some booze! ** We need to know numbers for the meal so please email lois@barlowharps.demon.co.uk
(There will be a vegetable lasagna and a chille or similar etc )

For more info. on the Classic and Vintage Racing Dinghy Association see http://www.cvrda.org

Spectators are very welcome but there are plenty of eligible boats in the dinghy park so why not join in?

Any questions to Chris Barlow chris@barlowharps.demon.co.uk

I think it is 'beef bourgignon' on the menu (if that's how you spell it) rather than chile!

We have couple of spare beds available if anyone wants an overnight place.

Chris and all

sorry doesn't look like I am going to be able to make it again this year!

Mixture of things including: Simone has buggered back, lack of babysitting, lack of money, Simone not mad about sailing Firefly.....but Firefly only boat on water at present!

But going to miss it!

Just need to try and get everything sorted for Mayflower!!! Not sure whether to try and get Int 14 a little more sussed or to try and pull the old jollyboat out of retirement (yet again) for a few days

till later
