Hi Roger
I know Bough Beech well, had a girl friend whose father's house at Four Firs nearly backed on to it. I would argue that as a venue the sailing water is not as big as Roadford maybe half to two thirds the size. The problem with Bough Beech is the length limit. What is it? does it only apply to vistitors as a Jolly Boat was recorded in their results. If this is applied strictly then those persons owning larger boats are excluded.

Cheers Al

If it helps the sailing area is 240 acres.

Camping is usually allowed on site.

Length limit is 20ft for home and visitors, monohulls only.

I have asked the if the club would consider hosting the event and hope to have a reply shortly.

At 19' 10 1/2" even the FD squeezes into the length limit, so no worries there!

And I thought that Roadford was as far away as it's possible to get...............

Is south of London really further than south of nowhere?

Worse than that it is south of Croydon!
BUT it is quite close to Chatwell for Churchill fans.
I'm sure a good place, especially since a friend of my late father's house is at the bottom! - It was flooded in the early to mid sixties!
Simples.

At last some positive comments from people who have sailed there. AND it is out of the south west.

I suggest we leave it now for Rupert to discuss with the respective clubs suitable times and dates for the events.

As I have said earlier if a club wants to host a CVRDA type event we will provide all the support and advertising we can.

I think it wpould be nice to go to some different venues next year so lets see what can be sorted.
