Hunts Meeting

Post by Nessa »

The joint Vintage Merlin/CVRDA Open has been provisionally placed on Saturday 15th May. I live about 15 minutes from the club and you are welcome to book floor space should you wish to bring a sleeping bag and stay overnight.

Rupert, any publicity stuff you may have, especially about how boats qualify, will be useful nearer the time. I think the club will have a fair few classics and lost causes in its dinghy park!

If the offer of the Bonito is still there, would love to be there on the Saturday, not sure about the Sunday, but, I may have my arm twisted!!

Hoping to be there with Half Cut. We've ducked out of the home leg of the Gilmer Cup for it.

I am fairly confident the Harrier + is turning out for this, plus a classic fireball from the early 70s. I am in the process of nudging along some more club classics (!) to put in a showing.

We will need assistance with what pys to allocate, pretty please!

Jon, the Bonito has your name on it, unless David H requires your services!

Can a very old laser take part?

Had a nice chat with your event organizer on the phone a few nights ago, Nessa. Seems like a nice chap!
What boats are allowed to take part is pretty much up to the club, but the Laser doesn't really tick any of the normal boxes, even an old one...

I'll be testing out some new wording and handicapping numbers at Whitefriars. If the concensus is that it makes sense, I'll email it to all the event organizers next week.

Meanwhile, the old Harrier handicap was 98, which seems pretty generous. The + I'd expect to try off 95 (same as a Hit trial No!), as the Laser (also 95) does have its uses, if only as a bench mark...there, an excuse to allow it to compete!

Nessa,
Angie and I are hoping to be with you(have to swap my working weekends around). Travelling up on Friday and returning Sunday. Can you recommend a good but reasonable B&B please.

Oh and if you have any keen youngsters or older I could do with a crew for Shoestring.

Cheers Roger

I have already offered my spare room to David h, otherwise you could stay here! I will ask around for B&B recommendations. I have a hyper active cadet section here. Tell me size, shape, weight etc and I can fix you up I'm sure!

The harrier + seems to be about the laser handicap when I sail mine ( which is rarely ) @ rollesby & was the PY they used at Whitby for the fleet they had there.
