I believe it is weak willed, and bowing to public pressure, I will not give up smoking!!! I am stronger than that!!

Great news!
I'll add 4 to the lunch numbers.

By the way, if anyone is coming who would like a gentle sail in a Mirror 1st race, my family won't be down till the 2nd race, so one is available.

Just been checking the website, to get directions. Although, I have every sailing club in the UK loaded in my TOMTOM, it has been known to get it wrong (I just like to check up on it occasionaly). The link through the website seems to put the club very away from water.

Will there be signs, directing us ignorant people from the East (I've never sailed at Whitefriars, but it looks like it could compare to Oulton Broad!!)

If you can find Whitefriars Lane on your TomTom, the club is at the end of it. That is how I satnaved it last year.

BTW I have a GPX file of all the sailing clubs in the country. If it is any use I can email it to you. You can then load into your TomTom as required or just use something like EasyGPS freeware to see them on Google Earth - no satnav required, just compare it to your road atlas.

Thanks Nigel, it would be good to compare your GPX to mine..

The one I have was developed by a schoolboy as a GCSE project, it is normally bery good, but did locate Hunstanton SC a mile away from the club!! Luckily I knew it was wrong.

Hi Jon,

that had me worried so I just checked it on Google Earth. It is about 50 yards short of the club and just in the water but you should be alright if you stay on the track :D

There will be signs pointing down the lane if you get that far. Can't help if you take the wrong motorway junction...
From the East, go off at J15 M4, follow the dual carriage way round Swindon to the Spine Road Junction. Follow Waterpark signs. When you get to the X roads, turn right, and the right turn in 100 yards is Whitefriars lane.
Anyone coming from the west not know?

We haven't been there before but it looks simple enough. We don't do sat-nav just Pat-nav with the Ordnance Survey and the Good Beer Guide. We don't end up towing wide Merlins down farm tracks either, like the guy who followed us to Wimbleball last year but then turned off, following his sat nav and arrived about 30 minutes after us, very muddy. :D

Pat I go to Malmsbury turn right by the water tower and then go through Minety north through Ashton Keynes go straight over the spine road and first right.

If you can get Sandy up early enough you can follow me. :D
