Ohhh, believe it or not, but, I am getting really excited about my first ever, CVRDA event.....
Will I find that all you CVRDA sailors are weird, trainspotter types (And I must admit - I am a trainspotter!!!)
Will I fit in? Or will you consider me strange, for wanting to sail on the Norfolk/Suffolk Broads....
I will look forward to joining the smokers in the car park, however, I fear that I may be by myself!!

Jon,
we are all strange...just in our own unique ways

I'm sure we are all weird in other ways, but in this context others find us weird because we see nothing wrong with talking about/working on and occasionally, if it isn't broken, sailing old boats. If you don't find that odd, you'll fit right in. Might be right about the smoking, though...

No, there'll be two smokers in the car park. Though one is a Satisfaction
Half Cut's home from the barn so we need some dry weather on Saturday to clean and put the lines back.

Just to wish you all hugely succesful weekend, and to say to those not going to church I am sure your prayers on the water will be at least as sincere as those offered in the kirk!
Enjoy and have fun, rotten forecast for UK though.

Simples.

I managed to find a good forecast yesterday for Sunday - 12 mph, 10 degrees and only occasional light rain. I stopped looking at that point because I didn't want a second opinion!

B**ger!
I thought that the Smoker, revarnished last summer, had escaped the worst of the winter weather, as it was okay when I came back from Oz. I've been down at the club working on the boat today and the foredeck has taking a bit of a beating - but the boat will be fully okay for Sunday.
So, once AUS 278 is done, the Smoker will go back into the workshop.....
Rig wise.... a 2.8m jib will work but that is not quite the whole story - later (but still hog stepped alloy) rigs use a slightly lower aspect rig - so you end up with about 6" of unused mast.
Boat will be all packed away Friday ready for a 'crack of dawn' start on Sunday

Crickey,
Please don't worry me like that!! When I read the first few lines, I started to think I hadn't got a sail on Sunday!!
Do I need to bring my sandpaper and varnish with me??

Hi Brooksey,
yes, no problem. I'll PM you my number, and if you give me a call we can arrange when to meet.
