I should think there will be a chance to have a sail in our Firefly, Stephen.

The location of the sailing club eludes me - the map link provided seems to lead you up a drive quite a long way from the lake...

Can I please have a grid reference or something???

Or - turn by turn directions from Landy

Is This where we are going??

Hi John,

that looks like it.

Go through Llanidloes. At the bottom of the resoirvoir, take a left turn and follow the road around the west side until you hit the right turn for the sailing club.

Hi Guys
Yes I've car troubles Friday morning and still sat at home waiting for the garage to phone me to say they have the parts. I'll proberbly come up any way without a boat (using Shona's Almera), and see if I can borrow or crew one. Hope to see you all some time.

Hi Ed
Car will hopefully be fixed by 17.00hrs this evening then planning to leave at 6.00 Saturday.
Hope Simone is feeling better. We will be staying at Llywedog till Friday by the looks of it. If you could get your boat to Roadford and borrow Neil's Trailer. I could take it up for you. The Finn would need to be on the bottom deck as only Shona and I will be around at 7 in the morning. Leave it in a prominate place if you wish to go.
Cheer s Al

Had a great time, even with the shakey start. Much improved weather on Monday a great relief, at least for the first race in the morning whilst there was still some wind

Warm welcome both from the club and CRDVA members most welcome.

Lovely area also.

Cheers

Steve, Elaine, Chris and Katy.

Just to echo Steve's message above, I had a great time even though I bailed out early. Good to put faces to the names and I hope to be at the next cvrda annual bash.

How many thanks can one fit into a forum message?

Here's a few:

Rupert and Katheryn for giving Matt the crew slot in the winning firefly. He is still sleeping it off!
Kieth - for boats for Tom and Meg to sail.
Rescue and Race Officers - superb.
Thames Water for leaving some in the lake for us.
Several people for advice on kicker arrangement for Tom's OK.

... and so on. CVRDA certainly living up to the A in its name.

What a lovely club! Great!!

See you all again soon;

Really was a great weekend. Had tea (squashed cheese and onion slice!) just after we left the club on the top looking down on the lake, which finished it off nicely!

Saturday down the bottom end of the lake was an experience I'm likely to remember for a while - thanks to the rescue guys for towing us back! Matt wasn't put off, either, which was a surprise...
Sunday was scary but exciting, and then Monday...Matt had to very patient to put up with my micromanagement of exact jib tension, boat heel and the like. Mark spotting under the jib by seeing the reflections was interesting, as was seeing the boat going through the water but realizing there was no movement against the land...Clywedog has a slight current...

So, I'd like to echo the thanks for Keith and his team, especially to Sarah for the food. The Veggie Lasagne was delicious!

Indeed it was a wonderful weekend so Lois and I add our thanks to Keith and all involved in the organisation. The two even meals were superb and a great social too. It was great to see some new faces, some that are rapidily becoming regulars and of course the classic and vintage faces!
( now I know what a Skua is too) a great variety of good races too.
Thanks again

Excellent weekend, many thanks to Keith, Mick, Sarah and the crew. Great to see so many boats taking part and the evening meals were a good social time.

Sorry to pip you at the post, Peter - being overtaken by you like we were standing still down the runs on the Saturday was an educational experience of the power of Finns, and of your one armed sailing ability! Hope the muscles are feeling better.

Thanks Rupert, but I think I've now had about 10 years of being beaten by you so I'm getting used to it! Arm still very painful, hopefully it will have recovered by the Finn Masters at Roadford.
