Baltic Wharf still to come!

Post by Rupert »

Don't forget, before the boat goes into mothballs for the winter (or you do!) our final meeting of the year will be at Baltic Wharf on Saturday November 20th.

We're doing a course at Bristol Avon and unfortunately the dates have been changed and Baltic warf now seems unlikely for us. Shame to miss thought.

Ironically I will be in Bristol area on 19th November for a 70th birthhday party - a guy who I did my PhD with at Long Ashton BUT will be flying back to Scotland on the Saturday morning at the crack of dawn for the Annual Sailing Club Dinner at Forfar so won't be attending Baltic Wharf. Perhaps next year. One house sold, one to go!!!

Well done for selling so quickly Garry. There's quite a few local properties on the market via the Warminster agents at present.

I have this from Nigel:

We have a date in the calendar for the CVRDA event on 20th Nov 2010 and we have pencilled in the same weekend in 2011.

I think we normally start the first race at 10:30, the long head of the harbour race, and then two races in the afternoon.

We will promote the event locally.

Everything else generally gets sorted out on the day.

I have this email from a Cornish couple - could someone who will be there please make a post here and make them welcome on the day.

Hello,
My partner Bryan and I have a 1961 vagabond dinghy (Jack Holt design) which Bryan has owned since childhood that we occasionally race for fun as a break from our modern plastic bathtubs! We are not geared up to race her this winter but are hoping to join in some of your events next year.
We live in south-east Cornwall and are planning to drive up to Baltic Wharf to watch the cvrda racing on November 20th. Could you pleast tell us who to make ourselves known to!
Regards,
Kathy Boston and Bryan Luxford

Look out for red Merlin 2121 and we'll look out for you. Lunch is always taken in or outside the pub - the Cottage Inn.

Yes you can, John.

Bill, it is next weekend. I was OOD at Whitefriars today, and yes, we had our 2 minutes of respect.

I was OOD at Shearwater and we did too - good turnout for the 2 minutes silence, pity no one wanted to race in the lovely northerly force zero wind with free boat wash in fresh water from above!
