Full cvrda programme 2011
Re: Full cvrda programme 2011
David, shearwater when it blows from the west gives Bough Beech style gusts with lovely big windshifts as well. I to remember crewing Rupert in his firefly and telling him howto sail round the shearwater gusts.
Having siad that in light weather it must be the most frustrating places i have ever sailed.
You should try it sometime

I've now added all the events to date onto the Y&Y website calendar. Please could all the event organisers give us some blurb for both our events pages and Y&Y - if you haven't got the programme details yet, just write a "teaser" with details like camping, contacts, any restrictions on what size boats can attend etc. etc.

Re: Full cvrda programme 2011
Thank you for that, Pat.
Sadly, the Oulton week committee have decided not to put on a separate start for classics. They say that we would, of course, be more than welcome to come, but racing in with the handicap classes. If it proves popular with older boats, then they will look at it again in future years.
As such, I am starting a new thread for race weeks at which classics might have a good time.

May 8th Shearwater club has an outing to Roadford by the way. Hope to see friends again.

Roger, read the site front page, not just the forum.
Events organisers - I need details for the site. Thanks Nottingham for yours, it will be posted up later.

More info about Whitefriars and Banbury is now up on the forthcoming events page (yes, Roger, we have one of them, too!).
Pat has just very bravely given me access to those pages (thanks Pat!) so if any other event needs details put up, please email me (PM me for email address or use the contact button.

You've done fine Rupert. I like Tim's Banbury write-up.
And who's taking responsibility for Roadford this year?

I've added weather forecast links to all our venues so they'll now appear with the event details when you pull them up from the home page of the site http://www.cvrda.org.

Thats excellent, Pat! Didn't bring up the forecast for the August B/H for Whitefriars, though... (Not sure which smiley I should have put after that comment!)
