Race weeks 2011

Post by Rupert »

Race weeks are scattered all over the UK, and all during the warmer months. If you know of one, are involved in running one, or are planning on taking part and would like company, please post details of your event in this thread.

I'll start with Oulton Week, 21st - 27th August. Even though there is no classic dinghy fleet this year, old boats will be made very welcome, and there are loads of classic broads yachts out to gawp at.

More details can be found at http://www.wobyc.co.uk/

Chichester Harbour Federation Week:-
Chichester Harbour Federation Week, one of the most popular dinghy regatta weeks, attracting in excess of 400 entries each year. In 2011 FED Week will take place between Monday 15 August to Friday 19 August, under the burgee of Hayling Island SC.

The Link is to the programme for 2010. Note there is a Slow and Medium Handicap.

The Organisers I think might be persuaded to do a classic division if interest was high enough, perhaps slotting it in with the slow handicap start.

Not a race this year, but we have a nice open event cruise down the Mersey past the Pier Head and to have lunch at new Brighton beach.

Its a fantastic sail and a great chance to see the world famous Liverpool Waterfront from the only vantage point that matters. A sail for the moderately experienced and at min well found boats in a busy commercial waterway.

Let us know if anyone is interested.

Best regards

That sounds like a great experience, Kev. Too far for me, sadly. Do you have a date for it?
