Swallow is the boat used in the film. She was bought at the Turks auction by a consortium lead by Merlin mags (magnus) from Y&Y online. He then had her restored, and she does look great - more so, in my opinion, now she is being used and isn't as totally gleaming. Needs some mud & bumps to look like she is used by 4 kids!

Yes, there were quite a few other photos that havn't got onto the Bosham Picasa web galleries.

I think, by at least 2 other photographers??

There were the other shots we saw on the slide-show at Bosham.....and also the pro-photographer, who I think was working for Classic Boat.

No idea how we get to see either sets of these photos.....would be nice wouldn't it.

There was a series of shots of the Minisail running by the lee in no wind I'm interested in seeing, firstly because I like seeing pics of my boat, and there weren't many, but also because I want to see what I was doing, as it seemed to work quite well with the boom way, way forwards of the mast and way in the air - one gust and I'd have been in to windward!

Minim the Minisail is now having a bit of a facelift, by the way - second coat of black paint (it was in the shed) went on the hull this afternoon - I like drying weather! Trouble is, the flies and floaty seeds do, too.

It was Sunday's slide show, and they aren't all on there, sadly.

Hi All,

I am the photographer that Ed was referring to. Although there are a number of images on the Bosham SC website, a number of the best images are missing. If you are interested in images of any particular boats, please contact me at jonathan.hoare9@gmail.com. I am quite happy to produce prints at reasonable rates if you wish. I've a number of images of all the boats present, particularly all the Jollyboats, the Fireball, Minisail, Hornet (Roger on centreboard...).

Best wishes,

Jonathan

This is Ed showing how it should be done. Bolt upright and powering through the waves like a lifeboat. In the distance you'll see that he is being pursued by J83 Jolly Fox. Brilliant racing and a brilliant weekend. If only there had been more Jollyboats. Jimini was also there and looked equally impressive.

Roger,
Please send me your e-mail address. I have some images of the Hornet in action from a variety of angles.

@rupe

are you implying that I am only rarely upright? :-)

Is this - on or off the water?

Actually this shot was obviously on a run and it ain't hard to keep upright then....it is on the beets that it is harder of course.

Ed,

You looked pretty solid on the beats and I really enjoyed watching the battle between the J boats and the Sharpie. I know you may not wish to be reminded of this capsize, butyou recovered brilliantly.

Rupert,

I'll be working on your images in a mo.

Thank Jonathan.

The 2nd shot there was more what I had in mind for Ed!

The JB's and Sharpie did appear to have a fantastic battle going on. Mind, the medium handicap fleet had some close ones, too. I was surprised how closely Minisails and Devon Yawls were in speed, given the boats are about as far apart in concept as it is possible to be in open boat sailing!
