Re: Fixtures 2012
Hi Roger
Will take the dates 16th-17th June (to the Committee), as this is mid month. Pat we talked about the Bank Holiday and decided that with increased traffic. The flood of leasure sailors using the lake if the weather is good on bank holidays. That it would be better to run this event over two days. By doing this it would also help to reduce entry fees as we have to pay SW Lakes a launching fee for every boat that takes part.We would also have a better choice of camping spaces and electrical hook ups. The skipping of the Bank Holiday may mean we will have better weather.
Cheers Al

That is the weekend schools break up, I believe - I'd rather have it the one before.

Re: Fixtures 2012
The Bosham event is now provisionally the 22nd and 23rd September. They are wiating for confirmation from Chichester harbour commision but looks pretty certain.
They have also asked me to mention that they are hosting the 12m Sharpie Nationals and are inviting National 18s, Chichester harbour 18s and Jollyboats to start after the SHarpies.
This is happening 22nd -24th June.

Re: Fixtures 2012
Just recieved the following mail.
Dear SirWest Riding Sailing Club (near Wakefield in West Yorkshire) is holding it's 75th anniversary regatta over the weekend of 26th / 27thMay 2012. As one of the last clubs (if not the last) to race Uffa'sSwordfish in numbers, we thought it would be a great way to mark ouranniversary event by inviting the sailors and their families of other classic designs. We can offer your members two days of racing - 5races - with evening entertainment and overnight camping. The price has not been settled yet, but as a guide, last year it was £15 forsingle-handers and £25 for two-person boats. I hope you would consider adding West Riding's anniversary regatta to your 2012 calendar and help us make it a truly historic event. Yors faithfully Adrian Thear Sailing Secretary
Any swordfish owners out there?

Re: Fixtures 2012
That sounds like a great event to get involved with, and an excellent way of spreading the cvrda word northwards, without the problem of someone putting an event on and no one arriving for it. How far from Kielder is West Riding?

Not far to travel from Derby/Nottingham so we should be able to give it good support.
