Clywedog

Post by Garry R » Tue Jun 19, 2012 7:09 pm

Just wondered if there is a loose timetable for Clywedog on 11th August. If everyone is arriving on Saturday morning then I'll just book one night B&B but if there is sailing on Saturday morning we'll come on the Friday and book two nights. No doubt Keith the fount of all knowledge will be able to advise. Thanks. Garry (sailing with Roger in Gannet)

Is the weather forecast better this year?

But hope to come but would definitely wish to camp Friday and Saturday night - it feels a long way to come without doing that!

Same here re the camping, and is there the opportunity to sail on the Sunday too? Otherwise it may be too far for us.

It is normally a weekend event, Nessa - and the scenery makes it a unique venue, too. Just don't sail under the cliffs in a blow...

Kathryn and I will have abandoned the kids in France, and hope to bring Saskia along to torment the Flying 15's again. When we are coming up will I'm sure be decided nearer the time - probably much, much nearer - like the Friday morning...

I am coming if I can find a sitter for Foxette Fanshawe. I suspect I will bring the moth (glutton for punishment) and hopefully JT with the 420, who may need a crew.

We have made arrangements already, amazingly. Stopping in a B&B in Rhayader overnight Friday, lazy start Sat morning, ariving in time to rig, enter, lunch and launch Saturday. Camping Sat night, heading home Sunday evening. And no children!

Chris, Roger, Sandy and I were talking in the pub after sailing and some of our best memories are of Clywedog. Whether it is Chris bump-starting an Albacore, an old GP14 doing a port hand flyer on the fastest boats or leading a pack of spinnaker flying boats they were great fun at a beautiful location.

Plan is to attend with Jacob as he is with me for the first couple of weeks in August. Magda will try to get time off work but may not be possible. Is there any specifics regarding boats as it would be great to bring the rocket or the osprey!!!

I've had a look at various photos and the setting looks beautiful with the backdrop of the mountains. Truly stunning.!!
