Just had this from Nigel.

Hi Roger,

I hope all is well?

Just to confirm the CVRDA event in Bristol (Baltic Wharf) will take place on 17th Nov. We plan two races, the first being the Head of the Harbour, 11:00 start and the second at 14:30. In other words the same as last year!

Best regards

Nigel

Time for a good warm, slightly lubricated lunch, then!

Not sure we can come after all - can't find a dog sitter, the in laws are being difficult and insisting on leaving the country

Just 2 weeks to go till BWSC now.

Must dig out all the cold weather sailing gear next week, as the Lightning late autumn meeting is the weekend before. Actually, digging it out for Sunday might not be such a bad move, either...

Charlie and I looking forward to bringing Saskia along for a last sail before she goes into storage for the winter. I've not been to BW for a few years, either. Have they built any more tower blocks to block the wind on the head of the harbour race?!

Loved the head of the harbour race, thank you!

Though the bit where we were running up, spread right across the river, in virtually no wind, was an interesting experience... The beat back down, with all those lovely shifts to play with, and just enough breeze to keep moving, was good fun.

Less said about the 2nd race, the better, really - I think Charlie was nodding off at the front with that Cottage Pie inside him!
