Pompey Perisher 16th Feb

Post by roger »

Anyone going to Hayling to take part or spectate in the revived Perisher. I am going in a non cvrda Wayfarer. Should be fun if its not snowing.

Sorry...as a previous winner of the real Perisher, I don't agree with the way that hayling have 'borrowed' the name.
If you go to HISC and say you're in Postmouth someone will hit you - they are Hayling....and (rightly) proud of it. I really do think that there are plenty of names - the Hayling Howler being just one suggestion - that I think that to use 'perisher' is somehow - not on!

It seems that Portsmouth were happy with the use of the name. Things move on Cowes Dinghy Week used to be sailed at Cowes before my brother sank his Mirror in Cowes Roads and had to have his crew(me) taken off by a "stinkboat". May be it should be Gurnard Dinghy Week.
Any way call it what you like are you going David?

Sami,

better stil, look for two short middle aged gentlemen REPAIRING a glass Wayfarer - Roger has his reputation to maintain!

Sorry Roger, won't be over for this one, did think about it as the forecast is brilliant (for an event in mid Feb)

Or they could get Peter to repair it. Sounds as if he's got all the kit.

Ok Roger thanks, I'll try and make it...I've just looked up the event and it appears to be in the harbour....I thought it was outside....so should be able to see a lot of it. Weather looks promising too, light NE with some sun is my best guess at present. 8)
