National Rally - who is coming?

Post by Nessa » Wed May 08, 2013 7:55 pm

My galley people etc are now asking for an idea of numbers for this event so we can start to plan catering. The idea is to have an all inclusive entry fee which will cover sailing and food. That will be Saturday supper, Sunday lunch and supper, Monday lunch and tea.

Camping on site is available, there are also plenty of B&Bs very nearby as Hunts is within five minutes walk of St Ives town centre. The non sailors can easily get into Cambridge on the guided busway, again within walking distance of the club, and there are plenty of other local entertainments.

Our lake is a gravel pit, not huge, but plenty big enough for the cvrda fleet. Look up PE27 4YA on google maps or Bing. The club is very accessible being close to the A1, A14.

Usual CVRDA rules for attendance, minisails and Signets also welcome. The club is legendary for its hospitality, so please don't miss out on what will be a great event. Sign up here if you're coming so we can start to make plans!

I'm editing this to now include a list in this first post of who is coming and what they are sailing. If anyone sees any mistakes, or is missing, please let me know!

Pat and Sandy, ??
Lois and Chris MR
Roger & Angie ??
Tony (Obscured) Finn
Rupert & family (3) Firefly & minisail
Garry & Trish, plus crew MR
Peter & wife, Finn
Ronny & Marijke, minisail

Jonny Boat Breaker - the unknown moth
Me and Nikky - International 14
Hannah and Michael - Signet

Jeroen - Finn http://classicfinn.org.uk/forum/viewtop ... f=11&t=233
Chris and Clare - Jollyboat

Ben and ? mystery boat.
John minisail
Tom + 1/ 2 minisails
Paul - minisail

I am expecting two or three 'home' merlins, depending on what Mikey sails, plus we have a couple of qualifying ents I'm persuading out. There is a Pearson Finn who says he will be racing on Saturday and Sunday, plus quite a few other locals across various classes.

Maybe Minisails Ronnie?
if you collect my Minisprint Hull-we will be living very near to Harwich by then.
Also as my Sprite is residing on a farm off the A14 so I would like to say yes I will collect her and attend, however my carer commitments might not make it possible, unless I can leave my charge with them (long suffering family)and carry on to Hunts with Minisail-thats a thought and stretching things wondering if their Transit Horsebox with sleeping area is available...
I think the chances of all that falling into place are a bit slim but I would really like to attend at least one day,
but cannot actually commit right now.

I can hardly let Ronny and Marijke have all the fun, so you can count me in for another tent and at least one more body for the Belgium contingent. Might just bring along my MiniSprint for a laugh too. Note to self: Buy new hat.

Forgot to say Nessa - we usually request membership renewals at the Nationals. A little space on the form for those who have not paid their £10 to do so for the 2013/14 year (August to August) I don't mind collecting these if your forms are already printed.
