National Rally - who is coming?

Post by Nessa »

Hi all,

Everything is coming together now for what should be a great event. I will very soon be publishing a NoR, but essentially the programme is:

Two races on Saturday afternoons on
AGM and class dinner in the clubhouse on Saturday night
Three races on Sunday, Concourse in the morning, barbecue in the evening
Try a boat session on Monday before 90 minute pursuit race.
High tea and prize giving

I'm hoping there will be plenty of opportunities for boat swapping, and start times will be relatively flexible. Saturday's racing will combine with the Vintage Merlins, on Sunday we share with the SigneTs and informal family racing for club members.

There is free camping on site, but I do need an idea of numbers. I also need to know numbers for lunches and the barbecue on Sunday, as these will be included in the entry fee.

So, if you're coming please say so here, including whether or not you want tent or camper space, what boat you are bringing, how many supporters you are bringing, if you are veggie/vegan, and lastly, whether you might need a crew! Sorry to ask so many questions, but it's likely to be a busy weekend and as we are a volunteer run club I need to make things as easy as possible for our helpers!

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

The list:

Roger sailing Aggie with Nikky
Sam, Sally, Albacore, camper
Ratt, alone? Tent, scow or mini sail, may need crew
Whelans four of, camper plus tent/awning
Peter, camper, plus one? Finn
Chris and Lois, camper, vintage 14
Amy, toy camper, ToY boat
Ian and Wendy, boat ? Camper
Pat and Sandy, Albacore, Camper
Chris, boat! Maybe camping.
Keith, Finn, tent
Dean plus three, Leader
Paul and Chris, Albacore
Lyndon and Tom, camper, moths.

I`m coming :D :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks to the generosity of a Hunts member putting me up ( should that be putting up with me) and a brave boat owner lending me her boat and partner.

Really looking forward to it.

4 Whelans are coming. My sure what boats, who is sailing or any details other than needing a space for Kathryn's camper van and either the awning or a small tent.

Must start some organising on all this.

P also turned veggie now, so 2 + 2 for any food, thank you!

I'm coming, with small tent and double stacked boats... Which one I sail depends on whether I have a crew or not...

As I'm really disappointed at having to miss the Finn nationals because of a broken rib, I'm really looking forward to coming as I should be OK by then, and it's time Nessa had a go in my Finn!

Amy (and with apologies to John Andrews) I will bring John's Oppie rig to Hunts. In the deluge before Staunton Harold, I only flipped the cover up on the Mirror, and failed to spot the sail tucked in from the front!

By the way, is anyone needing a crew for something fast and exciting? Young Charlie, very experienced (recently qualified DI, but we won't hold that against him) cvrda veteran for longer than he has been in this world as a separate entity) interested in some speed!

Hi Nessa, We will be coming to Hunts again for the National Rally and are planning to arrive in the motorhome on Friday evening although not sure which boat we will be towing yet. Please count us in for the AGM and barbecue. Looking forward to meeting everyone again as it seems a long time since the event at Severn and I was out of the country while Staunton Harold, Roadford and Clywedog were happening. Did some vital repair work on the Shelley today so that might end up being the boat we bring, especially as it seems to like Hunts!

Count me in, maybe camping or b+b,

Will bring something, trying to get the JB ready but may bring the 14.

A crew would be good if anyone is up for it?
