Just got back home from an excellent weekend - many thanks to Charles, Nick and the team for putting on some excellent racing (I didn't get lost TOO often...)and to Carol, Shila and team for the best sailing club nosh I've ever had!
Great to see some new faces, and there may well be the chance of a cvrda event in N12 heartland Trent SC next year.
Chippenham next, in 2 weeks - a non TT event for smaller boats at one of the friendlest clubs I've been to - and a graet way to tighten up your boat handling skills for the shifty bits at Clywedog!

Kren's photos will be up on the website once I've sorted and re-sized them for downloading.

At least it looks like I was concentrating!
Well done Pat and Sandy on the best boat win - 1/2 cut is a lovely boat. One day I'll own something pretty enough to win it - maybe...

Pat,

I have some images too, taken in the blow on Saturday.

I will try and put up shortly.

I am also playing with some new image gallery software on the website which will hopefully come into play before too long.

will tell you more once I have sorted it out a bit.

cheers

Has Simone arrived home from Frensham yet? Did'nt get chance to get a close look at the Austin but it looked very good. A firefly on the back and you have the ultimate time warp.

Pat.
I missed the prize giving(well, almost.Very embarrassing!) so did'nt know you had won.Well done. Nice boat.

Everyone knows your late arrival was a deliberate ploy to get a bigger round of applause, Alan - no point in pretending shyness now!

Yup, Simone made it.

very slow....but no problems at all.

I tried driving it....scared me silly.....horrible clutch which grabs in the last quarter inch after 2 ft of travel.....no brakes at all....no seat belt.....

I think I will stick to old boats and not got down that particular route.

cheers

eib

ps....havn't thought about putting a tow hook on....don't think it would have the power to pull anything larger than a firefly....that's for sure.

Not me! I have refused to have anything to do with it at all!!!!

Only driven it once around the carpark under duress.

Just don't want to get into cars really.....why?

Current project list includes:

Big ones:
One knackered old cornish house - surveyor refused to write up as said it would take too long

Family of 5 children including one 2 year old.

Mechanical ones:
Series 2a Landie - needs new engine - which I have but not yet put in
Montessa 247 cota - bought as non-runner - kickstart buggered
Yam ty175 trials - had for years but clutch stuck and reluctant to start
Moto Guzzi 850T california - fell off it new millenium eve (whilst still sober) - still not back on road - but running

Sailing Boats:
Int 14 - recut sails and make cover
New IC - design, build new boat
IC sails - desperate need for new sails for IC
IC K41 - revarnish and make cover
Tideway - revarnish
Jollyboat J3 - total strip top and bottom and repaint, revarnish
Jollyboat ??? - total rebuild with crew deck new decks etc
Firefly - revarnish, clean love and sail
MR 638 - just the most beautiful Merlin Rocket I have ever seen - but no idea when I will find time to do up

Other boats:

1947 Looe built river boat with Stuart Turner 1.25 hp engine - new ribs new deck strip'n'paint
Kayak - strip clean fix seat paint - almost done. finsish tonight.

So am I into vintage cars.......god I hope not.

cheers

eib

Wow...I am such an amateur...
And Simone must be more understanding than Kathryn!
Still, I had the pleasure of taking a Mirror dinghy to the dump today!
It was an abandoned one at the club, and I was able to get 3 suits of sails, 2 spinnakers and alot of other gear in exchange for getting rid of dead boat and dead trailer! The boat had to be carried up the steps and thrown into the wood bin!
Now I just need someone who wants a slightly less dead Mirror as a free project (or someone who likes putting their feet through the bottom of boats!) and we will be back down to 4 dinghies and an outrigger canoe, plus 1/2 a ton of spare parts. Then, come the Autumn, I'll have to find a plastic boat to race in the winter.
