Pretty sure I saw a Spectrum at Wimbleball many years ago. Ian, if you wanted to steer Agamemnon for this you'd be welcome!

Hmmm, now there's a tempting idea and I would love the chance to sail "Aggie" sometime. Are you thinking of crewing or do I need to see if Lyndon would be up for it? Two Moth sailors in a classic 14...what could possibly go wrong?

My trapezing days are over unless strictly necessary! Plus I will be looking after the Hunts open. It would be good to have something to motivate me to get the original mast rigged. I have already had the mainsail made. Lyndon better start eating some pies!

David,
Their is a Firebird at my club, belongs to one of the Sea scout units.
I know Ent is a Holt boat, just had a brain freeze, couldn't remember a Procter boat.

Robert - really? That is an amazing coincidence!

As I said, I'm not organising the event but an working as a 'consultant' almost. I had been thinking about putting articles out in the media to see what boats ARE out there....Blue Peter, Beaufort, Alpha, Marlin (now a Marlin Mk 3 would make a superb handicap boat for PY racing).

But a Firebird...OMG, I sailed one of those when I must have been......17! (as in, a long time ago). Won a few races in it too!

PLEASE - big please - any chance of a picture?

David, I suppose what I was trying to say is that sailing is a participation sport, not a spectator one. I know I would have a wonderful time seeing all the boats, but I doubt I'd travel down unless sailing was involved too. I'd rather go sailing in less exalted company. I own 2 Proctor boats, and have owned many in the past, so this anniversary means something to me.

3 Toppers, wood, glass and plastic, would be needed. As you say, Minisails have many different forms.

I quite agree that as many designs as possible need to be tracked down. There have been several Marlin sightings over the years, including one at Whitefriars. I'll see if I can find out what happened to it.

David,
I will hopefully be able to get you a few pictures Saturday, (I am on duty so may not get time), boat is sailable but not mint, as you can imagine, dozens of Sea Scouts tend to play havoc with appearance, they have a couple of Bosuns too and about half a dozen Topaz race X.

David

I have two zeniths so I guess it's me you were thinking of, in theory would love to help but sadly neither are in sailing condition at the moment - one is not far off but really planning to re varnish the Finn this winter instead! I do know of one other which is in sailing condition and based at my club, could mention the event to him if I see him althought he doesn't usually travel.

Sam, the first weekend should work well, 2 weeks after Aldborough and gives time for Roadford later in July.
You can send your subs to Lois.

Not sure if I have mentioned this before but some years ago I left a Marlin at the Grantham tip...who knows, it may still be there.

Hi Peter,
I have sent you a pm on the subject of events next year so once you have had a chance to read it please contact me. If for some reason you haven’t received it I can try to send it again.

Regards

So if I've worked it out right that's (all provisional)
Hunts Sunday 3rd June - is that 2nd as well?
Aldeburgh 16/17 June
Hykeham 30th June - 1st July
Roadford 14th/15th July
and
Banbury Nationals - August 25th-27th (Bank Holiday)

I'll put them on the web once we know what's confirmed.

Sounds like a busy summer :)
