Banbury National Rally

Post by Rupert »

Just been looking at the calendar. Any info on Banbury yet?

Banbury not too far from Bowmoor, so maybe makes a good double for people travelling from further afield?

There is information on the home page about the Nationals at Banbury coming up this weekend. (Click the cvrda flag logo top left of this page and click on the Banbury Event)
I know we have had a few events in quick succession recent but please do try and make this one. The various prizes for travellers and the different wings will be awarded on the Monday.
I now have various trophies handed in, but do not have the Bell for the most attended, or the wing nut so please bring those with you or pass them on.
I have been told that there is plenty of water still.
There will be the AGM probably on Saturday.
Camping is available on site and I’m sure Banbury will live up to its reputation of the best food around.
If you can say if you are coming it does help the caterers.
See you there.

Sally and I intend to be there with the campervan and blue Albacore but being as there seems to be no formal racing on Saturday we wont be there until tea time A few details on the Saturday night meal would be useful for people with dietry requirements as would start times for both days.

It's CVRDA times - it happens sometime! What's the dietary requirements? - veggie options are normal, anything else can be organised given advance warning.

We are coming. Me, Nikky, two dogs, a Finn, possibly also an ok depending on when I collect it. Also have to check it’s eligibility. Will be racing the Finn unless it’s mega windy. We would like to bring a tent.

I've added the menu to the event information. Pat K will be able to confirm whether the casseroles are gluten free, but one veggie one will as I'm making it!
Please could Sally bring her own favourite gluten-free bread substitute and possibly something to burn on the BBQ - not sure how gluten-free burgers and sausages are!

Race times: Sunday (CVRDA and Vintage Merlins) - first race 11.00am 2 more races to follow, most likely 2 races before lunch and 1 after lunch. Monday 2 or 3 races with the last race finishing before 3.00pm to allow time for prize giving etc.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

A big thank you to Pat and Tim and all the crew, chefs and everyone at Banbury for a great weekend. I’m sorry the turnout wasn’t a bit better but it was a very good weekend of sailing, socialising and of course eating and drinking. You fed us in great style...especially Tim on custard duty all the time!
Many thanks Banbury.
