Vintage OK. Ready to go

Post by Alan P. »

No. 906 from 1965/67. Recently added to the class site
I believe this boat was a barn find by one my friends in the class. Although he has a modern all singing & dancing pastic/carbon OK, he has taken the trouble to get this one back in sailing condition. When I saw it at the 50th birthday event last June it was not quite finished but looked in great shape. A very original Wyche and Coppock boat.
There are some pics of it with the ad on the for sale bit of http://www.okdinghy.co.uk
He appears to have fitted quite a good ali rig and sail. Well sorted. Got to be worth a look if your cheesed off with crews!

Perhaps I can answer ALL of your questions Mark?
Or just contact Deryck. He's very approachable.

I was impressed how well an OK went at Chippenham when we were there a few years ago. Mind, that might have been how well Alan sailed an OK at Chippenham!

Oh, I ain't no river sailer!! The OK is just a very nimble, chuckable little boat. Upper Thames S.C. has one of the largest fleets in the UK.
As for the fixed rudder, I probably had the heavy old lifting one in the camper if required. Did'nt realise I was pushing my luck. Kool
