The Trad Boat website (Link from this website) are anxious to know any information about this class.

Does this float anyones boat. Rather pricey unfortunately but probably a true reflection of the work in the boat and its newish condition. (The class dates from 1928, so it is both a classic vintage and also very probable a "lost class"
Sadly I would risk divorce simply by looking at this kind of thing so its up to some other philanthropist for now!

Duck!

Re: Duck!
I have certainly heard of them.
Certainly in the 1958 edition of Fisher - Sailing Dinghies.
most probably others:
Listing says - excuse crap typing but will do this fast:
Portchester Duck One-Design Dinghy
Length 11ft 3in Beam: 4ft 6in Sail Area: 90sqft
Some of the leading helsman in the dragon, 6-metre and ocean racing classes first learned to sail in these clinker-built pram dinghies which were designed for the Portchester Sailing Club by Commander Hamond, D.S.O. , D.S.C. , R.N. in 1928. The Duck's single standing lugsail is well peaked up and gives a surprisingly good performance to windward, though not the speed of a modern planing dinghy (written 1958 - ed). Ducks are popluar in Poole Harbour, paticularly Parkstone, Clinker Built. Wooden Daggerboard.
Hope this helps
cheers

Re: Duck!
It's on Ebay as well, with more photos.

I'm reluctantly giving up on varnishing in order to spend more time sailing, so a tupperware boat is replacing my Proctor Mk8 National 12. 2 masts, several sets of sails (2 Ratsey & Lapthornes and 2 Storrar & Bax), tatty cover, trolley.
Photos on the 12 website http://www.national12.org/class/MarkVIII.htm
Anyone interested - open to offers.
