Merlin 1754

Post by andrew »

A bit upset.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170837135892? ... 1423.l2649
This has arrived on ebay.
Minus the mast boom sails rigging and tiller that I sold her with.
Still a stunning hull.
The buyer had covered storage and seemed keen.
Now seems to have moved on again.
Feel responsible and maybe guilty I did not finish and keep her.
Help needed with overcoming guilt.
Any ideas?

Was the mast and rigging really so good that someone would of wanted to buy the boat for them?

I remember this coming up before.

I really don't need another boat, let alone a merlin.....but if I did.....I would go for this.

I just think they are so beautiful and so very much exactly what the CVRDA is about.

Please someone do get it....I really think you won't be upset. Personally, I would of most probably put a new rig on it anyway :-)

Hi Andrew

Is the hull in good condition?

I bought an old Merlin but I'm afraid the whole thing is rotten through, but this means I do have all the rigging! I like the look of this one.

Cheers

Hi John
The hull is beautiful.
There were no problems.
The rolled deck needed stripping, sanding and varnishing.
The hull and inside did not need stripping.
If you have rig etc you will find it difficult to find a better looking hull.
Good luck
Andrew
