Kids Catamaran (KL10)

Post by Bootscooter »

As I'm being moved by work away from my family shortly, SWMBO is insisting that I clear out all my "stuff", including some of the fleet that no longer gets any use...

This hasn't been used for a long, long time, but it's a cracking bit of kit for youngsters.... My two used it before they started costing me a fortune when they started racing Toppers. 10 ft long with jib and fully battened main, it fairly cracks along - my son (8 at the time) used to take it out single-handed and wasn't far off keeping up with my Laser in a 2-3!
Made of GRP, it has metal keel bands running the length of the hulls. It has Dart style skegs so beaches and slipways can't cause any damage, and the rudders don't protude further than the skegs, so they're safe too.

It's not been used for a long time, and I'll make sure it has a full going over before sale. Comes with launching trolley, but no trailer (it's car-topable)

£250

Lying at Oxford SC, Call Jon on 07950 066668

Still available, because the chap I'd agreed a sale with was expecting to get something that looked brand new for £250! :(

Please bear in mind that this is an old boat - it does have a little gelcoat crazing and a repair or two. More pics coming when I've given it a wash.....

I don't know much about it tbh, just that the French appear to teach their kids to sail in these, rather than Oppies etc. my kids were bored with the performance of the rotomoulded Opti we had, so when I saw this I thought it'd do the trick! While the kids couldn't sail together (that's a reflection on them, not the boat! ) my son in particular lover single handing it. 8)

You see lots of them on the beaches in France, all being used by kid's sailing schools.
