THis one could almost be worthy of inclusion in the 2006 quiz.

Had a hint of the Kestrel about it....but too small and the sidedeck seem wrong. Lots of boats it MIGHT be.....this one may set you reaching for the Dinghy Handbook!

Looks like a cross between a Marlin and a Kestrel - must be a Proctor design, and looks really familar - I suppose we could email the seller and find out what is on the sail...

Already emailed the seller - am awaiting a response.

One thing is for certain - Marlin is NO! I've found out that we have one, that sails (big suprise there) at netley so that's another possible crossed off the list. Don't think it's a kestrel, bow looks wrong as does the sidetank/foredeck shot.

I did wonder if it was a 'Clipper' but they're so rare that i'd doubt it

Any other ideas?

sorry jim...........don't think it's a kestrel. I know the early ones from Gmach's had that sort of mainsheet horse on the stern but it looks a tad short for a kestrel.

Could it be a Beaufort? (early Proctor GRP boat)

I considered that, but there was no aft deck, and the bows were both more raked and slimmer. That is another boat that looked like she should have been a big hit, a generation on from the Pegasus, very fast but not too big - did the Furball get in the way, or is it more the sitting out singlehanders?

She does look very similar, doesn't she? The Silver Streak was 13' 6", though. The description in Percy Blandford's book gives her an aft deck with a track on, too...
