Collection of masts etc
Collection of masts etc
We have had a clearout at Chippenham SC and unearthed a collection of masts and rudders. 2 Mirror mast/boom with assorted fittings/ sheets, Enterprise (?) rudders, 2 Moth masts and other masts as yet unidentified.
Anybody interested contact me at [email protected] and I will email photos (can't work out how to put images here)

Re: Collection of masts etc
Sorry no Fins. mostly Moths and one unknown probably a double hander. managed to get them identified tonight.
Random booms, spiniker poles (where did they come from?) and Mirror kits.

Meryl,
We Classic Mothies would certainly like to take care of the moth masts. Ian M will happily come over and identify them as he is not far away, although he is not available for the next 2 weekends. Can you save them for us?
We could send Alan but its likely they would end up spearing bushes along the M4

Re: Collection of masts etc
Knowing Chippenham I suspect they are British Moth parts. I cant see an inter Moth of any design doing very well there what with the weed and the narrowness of the river.

If there's a wooden British Moth mast I suppose I ought to put a bid in to go with poor remnant in my signature...

Spearing bushes?
Don't you mean sparing blushes?

Completely by the by, but when I was a lot younger than I am now, probably around 12, I used to sometimes see the dinghies bring sailed on the river at Chippenham, especially if we went there off market day. I'd never really seen sailing boats close to before then.
