Carbon mast, booms etc

Post by BenIOW »

Having a bit of a sort out and have a few bits to sell.

Carbon mast:
6.47m overall length
Gooseneck 0.61m from base
Spinny eye 0.9m from base
Spreader 2.97m from base
X3 sheave boxes 4m, 4.72m and 4.82m
Tapered 55mm diameter.
No rigging or spreaders but a fair few fittings, seems to be in good condition, believe it was originally on a merlin but could suit a N12 or ever to be cut down for a low rider.
£100 Ono

Proctor Aluminium boom:
2.7m long,
65mm diameter
Originally from a contender, some corrosion but still fairly solid, a few fittings still on it.
£20 ono

Selden boom:
Not sure it's ever been used, great condition, no corrosion, has outhal fittings and main sheet eyes.
Same section as a current firefly boom, just about 6inches too short! May suit a gul or similar?
£60 Ono

Mast and contender boom are on the Isle of Wight, shorter boom is in Bournemouth. May be able to help with transport as I travel a fair amount.

I've got photos of everything if you're interested.

Cheers,

Ben

Hi all,

These are still all available. are you still interested in the mast Godfrey?

Also have a selection of rudder stocks which I'll be clearing out in the next few weeks, let me know if anyone is after anything in particular.

Do you know what section the mast is/what the wall thickness is?

Haven't got the mast here so not entirely sure Jim, I may have measured it before so will check tonight, if not I won't be able to for a few weeks unfortunately, would need to take the mast foot off too I guess.

you can usually tell by looking where the fittings go through.

finally managed to take a look at the mast at the weekend, mast thickness looks to be 2-3mm (measured where the main halyard enters near the foot.)

Mast is now in Lymington. Will be on ebay soon if nobody here wants it.

I'm still interested for a pipeline Merlin project. Might have to mess about a bit but worth doing. My number still as above and would think to collect it on route to Devon in a couple of weeks if that suits you?

Ben, Apols for hijacking your thread.

Godfrey, if you are looking for a Merlin, just to say Desperation (950) is still for sale!
