Yes it's a Tiptree, which probably means it's slower and heavier than a Pearson. But...
If it's got a Needlespar mast it's worth buying for that alone, and with a bit of cleaning up would still make a useable classic, unless you wanted to be at the front of the fleet.

Mast described as a black top but it doesn't look right to me - far more black at the top than I've ever seen??? Was having a look with the same thought as Peter!

Yes, we're trying to get it incorporated as part of the BFA site without losing the useful content.

I do not know much about Finn Needlespar masts, were they similar in section to OK ones? If this one was on an OK I think it could be a Delta section which has a long black length at the top, as did the Boyce offering of the same section.
The totally round 3M section came with a shorter black,blue or red coloured section.
