Firefly restoration and Bits

Post by nickM »

Hi, I've finally realised I am never going to get around to restoring her so I have a firefly hull looking for a good home - for free.

See photos here: https://goo.gl/photos/oX16fMrgBzGKrdFi8

The hull was a mk1 but deck ply has been removed.
Hull is sound but has had one repair on port side close to bow. It was varnished and has been partially stripped and fittings removed.

Also available:
- lots of original fittings (most off this boat but some others)
- Masts x 2 : one a gold proctor rotating and one a fixed silver proctor (original length)
- booms x 2 ; both quite old
- centreplates x 2: Old style with slot not hole
- rudder blades x 2: both spoons and no stock or tiller available

happy to separate the stuff and although I'm not looking to sell it, a contribution to RNLI would be welcome (especially if you're just after a centreplate!)
...we can discuss

Please don't dump those (irreplaceable) bronze bits! :(

Please list then and put them on here or on the firefly site.

I will give you a ring/PM about this. I am quite keen to establish a NFA reservoir of these items.

Michael.

thanks Michael.

Sooner or later someone will want all those parts and some will be common to other Fairey boats.

Best wishes
