Hi All. I've a fully rigged, early aluminium, Flying Dutchman Mast for sale.
I believe it's from FD K70. I also have a main and jib from K70, which are 'usable', but like the mast, not exactly recent.
I intend to put them all on Ebay, but thought I'd try the CVRDA first.
I know nothing about FDs, but I do 'picnic cruise' an old Javelin, their smaller cousin, and in comparison, this mast is solid and not light. My guess is it's a very early ally mast, made in the 60s, but it makes those old 60s Proctor Fireball masts seem like a light Needlespar. Therefore, IMHO, it might also have other uses. e.g. for a dayboat restoration. (My original idea.) Will those of you who know better comment please?
Main luff length, from memory, is a few inches over 20ft. (i.e. the gooseneck is adjustable). I will need to go and measure the forestay height and jib hoist height , but (again from memory), they are c.16ft along the jib luff/forestay.
Location. Suffolk.
Photos and more measurements on request.
I believe the rigging is all there, including trapeze wires and handles.
Price: erm. Well.. Um..
