Okay... it's another ebay special.

Not a bad looking singlehander

But the $64,000 questsion - who can be the first to identify this boat?

IMHO not a Solo - Solos have a pivoting c'board for a start and the transom is a different shape

I think it is a cut 'n shut homebuilt Phantom.

Nick,

I thought that too at first but I think not - too much curve in the deckline and, like the Solo, the Phantom has a pivoted centreboard.

Any other good ideas anyone?

No idea, but not phantom or solo

Could be a one off....but photos suggest hull came out of a mould and it is unusual to go to the effort of making a mould and then only taking one hull out of it.

Anybody got any other ideas?

cheers

Its got me beaten... I'm sure I'd recognise that unusual deck treatment if I'd seen it before.

Could be French - a Benji or X4?

Not deep enough for a Seafire, tho'I can see the resemblance. I still go for the butchered Phantom. Some boats, Daring was one, came with a choice of centreboard or daggerboard. I know the Phantom didn't, but that doesn't mean someone didn't decide to alter the design.

David

Yes, I spoke to Myron on Saturday, and told him you were trying to contact him. He went on holiday Saturday immediately after the race at Frensham, so I think you won't hear anything until this Satursday at the earliest.

Nick,

I think it has too much rocker to be a Phantom and the internal moulding is wrong.

The idea of an import sounds better, for sure it is one that I cannot place

Another ebay challenge for everyone. I for one have no idea what this one is but it looks suited to the less gravitationally challenged anongst us.

Nigel,

I think this one appears on another of our ebay threads - it does look very much like the Swallow, but it could have had a rare baby sister, I suppose!
