Hi all,

When I took the rudder bracket off shoestring it fell apart (old corroded alloy).:( It is the female part of the pintle and measures 3/4 inch internal width (of rudder)6 3/4 inches lenght of bracket and 3/4 inch depth of bracket and the pintle is 3/8. If you can help it
will be greatly appreciated.
I have a couple of pics if you need to see them. I am hoping to get the boat afloat for Netley in less than three weeks time so please look out those old rudders that have been in the shed "just in case" because this could be that moment. Thanks in anticipation.

Garry will try to send you a pic. Classic marine have kindly offered to make one in S/S Bronze or Galvanised. Bronze and S/S both cost £55 = vat which I suppose is not bad as they are making from scratch.
Incidentally being the cheapskate that I am I have ordered my bottle screws from the website I mentioned. Very helpful chap who promised a 3.5 ton breaking strain. Compared to other prices its like buy one get one free. I will let you know. The service is excellent

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the offer but I dont think it would fit. It is quite unusual and the tiller has been made especially to fit.
Thanks all the same.

Thanks everyone for looking I think I will go ahead and get one made up.
Netley is now off the menu for Shoestring. There is just to much to be done. The other Planker "Goose" will be there and we will be trapezing in the moderner one.
