The Aluminium plate is the same whatever MK of Firefly - it is only the deck layout that changes. They are available new from Rondar, I believe, with a hole rather than the traditional slot. Or you can get one made by anyone with the skills! Second hand they are rare, unless you buy the completely rotten boat to go with it.

So Rupert are you saying that the shape is identical whether hole or slot - only difference is that in a capsize the plate doesn't disappear to the bottom?!! Any idea what price a board would be?

The shape is identical.

The cost from Rondar - expensive.

I have tried to find someone who will cut one and contour edges (for Jollyboat) but it has always ended up just as expensive.

Remember that the Albacore/Jollyboat/Falcon? centre-board is almost identical - just 6in longer or so. If you found one of these in aluminum and I didn't get there first to stop you....you could pretty easily cut off the bottom to make a Firefly plate.

cheers
