Something More Sedate
Re: Something More Sedate
Isn't an Albacore about the most sedate dinghy you can get? I don't think I've ever seen anyone seriously sitting out whatever the weather. Also got loads of room and a high boom. Also got a very good handicap.

Perhaps this would appeal if you want something bigger (like a Dragon) but this is one with history in spades!Pat wrote:
What could be more elegant and stately ?
Lets see:
Thames Rater, Dragon, any other vintage wooden keelboat with fine long ends, I think there's quite a list.

Re: Something More Sedate
If looking for something more sedate I would counsel against a Dragon or any keelboat they may require less balletic agility but they do need a lot more brute strength, such boats are also expensive to run and need somewhere to keep them! The maintenance problems just multiply too. However I'll not be going back to dinghies I'll just admire frome close or afar.
Simples.

A Snipe? Just remember to start any manouvers the weekend before you want them to happen!
