Got one!! Keen students of "ebay" will even know how much I paid for it. As soon as the Solo is finished I can make a start. Thanks to all those who took the trouble to respond and thanks even more to those with sensible suggestions.

PS I am still on tenterhooks re the barn.

Sam,

just a local joke amongst those of us who rented space in the barn. I work for DEFRA and the owner of the barn rears turkeys. It was suggested that I used my professional position to influence the farmers decision to let us use his storage.
Of course it doesnt work like that.

I've seen several "turkeys" in barns recently in my unending quest for old boats and motorbikes!!!

No that is a Mirror 14 and quite an early one at that judging by the decking ply. There cant be that many left. The standard of the timber in the early ones had to be seen to be believed and of course they were glass taped with polyester resin which will be breaking up by now. Quite a nice little boat to sail.

Sam,

if you look around you'll find a lot of info on the Mirror 14/Marauder on here.

But you're spot on about the wood used.....
