Hornet Sail Battens

Post by Demon »

Just got hold of a half decent sail, but no battens with it.
The pockets are a lot thinner than my other sails so my battens wont fit. Anyone know/have the right battens i need?
The sail is made by Sanders if that helps?

Cheers

What are the width of the battens in your other sail?
Best wishes

About 40mm, replacement sail looks like it wont take battens much more than 10mm wide??

they sound like standard modern battens: any sailmaker should be able to help. What you really need to know though is whether you need tapered or untapered battens. IME some sails need one, some the other (except for the mainsail I use on Queenie which has a complete set of full length untapered battens plus some tapered battens of various lengths in the top 3 pockets!
