goosneck for kestrel

Post by Nessa »

our gooseneck threw itself overboard in dramatic fashion on the afternoon of the royal wedding. a futile gesture of protest? who knows, but does anyone have a replacement? it is the sliding version for a horrid old proctor mast.

cheers,

They're like finding hen's teeth in rocking horse dung! We lost ours on the M6 on the way to Dalgety Bay and haven't found a matching replacement despite hunting at boat jumbles - we robbed another of the fleet which will get a modern gooseneck.

Isn't it weird.....I bought a bundle of them going cheap a long while ago at a boat jumble....

hung around my bits box for a few years, but don't think I have got any left now....sorry.

I have a couple of spares, but I'm not sure if you need one to fit the sail luff bolt groove, (the one I have spare for that is minus the wing nut but plus a nyloc nut instead) or the gooseneck to slide on the wider flange where the throat of the groove is wider before narrowing.

I would post a photo, but currently can't get the better of the technology.......

I have fabricated one in the past. Not very pretty but easy to do.
