Vintage 14 wanted

Post by Katie »

I'm looking for a Vintage 14, either in sailing condition or needing some restoration. Any ideas on where to find one would be much appreciated!

Is the 1939 one on the for sale bit too far gone?

If you are after a really vintage one I notice the 1925 Morgan Giles one that was mentioned here some months ago is now in the "getting afloat" section of this months Classic Boat. I think she is number 82. The contact given is [email protected]. From what I remember she is in need of quite a lot of work.

Hi, thank you very much for the suggestions. I gather the 1939 one has found a home - and that was probably a bit more restoration than we could handle! The Morgan Giles one is much more what we were looking for but no luck getting hold of Mrs Flower... Will keep trying and thank you!

Katie, Not sure how much restoration you want to do, or how old you want your '14' to be, but Janine - 839 - recently at BB is available. Don't have any piccies handy I'm afraid, but if you look at edm post on this site under the string for "Events", "Nationals 2012", page 8, you'll find a couple of good shots under P1020399 and P1020400. Email me separately if you are interested, The boat is in Farnham, Surrey, does need some work, but not a lot, and not urgently. Or get me on 01252 311982.
