GP 14 Mast

Post by Steve Bailey »

Following a spectacular mishap to one of our Club training boats a little while back, we find ourselves in need of an aluminium mast for a GP14.
The value of the boat does not warrant paying the insurance excess, so we are just looking for a cheap and cheerful stick to get it sailing again.
Anybody got a spare one we could buy?

Hi Steve,

Sounds impressive. Any video?

there are often GP14 bits going cheap on eBay. These may fit (or may be a bit short):

The travelling to get them often costs more than the bits but if it is a club boat, your members probably already cover a big area between them with work etc.

Nigel,
No video unfortunately though we may have some photos of the boat being towed back, apparently gaff rigged.
We have been looking on ebay and also have an ad on Apolloduck. Nessa has kindly offerred a spare stick from Huntingdon but it would need a fair bit of "adjustment" to make it work, so we will keep on looking for a while.
