harrier/harrier+ dinghy
I have been following the `Hadron` thread on the Y&Y forum, which lead me to research the Harrier/Harrier+.
I`m thinking i would like to buy one, anyone got any info on any for sale?
regards

Glad you could make it across to see us.
You'll find some familiar faces on here, but also some with knowledge so obscure it is a wonder they can function at all!
In the case of the Harrier, your best bet is a tip off from those with their ears pressed to the 2nd hand boat market - Obscured by Clouds can sniff a classic boat or bit out at a range of 50 miles!

Simon Chinnock advertised one on here a while ago. he didn't show at the Hunts cvrda meet so maybe he has sold it, but I will try to find out.

Googled Harrier for sale. Unfortunately its dated 2011!

Seem to remember posting 007's DB4 on here as well. Must break the habit!
Is it worth searching club noticeboards in the Whitby/Newcastle area? I seem to remember someone saying they were trying to establish a Hadron (Harrier+) fleet up that way.
Otherwise they seem to be fairly regular apearances on ebay. Always in good condition, I suppose says something about the build quality. I've always liked the look. (btw I think there is one that sails out of Hayling Island.)

The Whitby Harrier fleet disbanded. There is one Harrier+ at Scaling Dam that I haven't seen on the water in 3-4 years. I have a harrier mast & boom somewhere if anyone wants them.

Try a Finn good class racing, Classic division, available and sailed everywhere. Strong, well built and proberbly faster than an old Harrier.

If I won the lottery I might be very tempted with getting a Hadron.
I would have to get some training first though - if I were to build it myself.
And a work shop.
I like the 'cut of its jib'.....but it does not have one!
Ho hum.

Re: harrier/harrier+ dinghy
I've made some informal enquiries & the Scaling Dam Harrier is apparently for sale. I've been told it is not a Harrier+ with the Phantom rig but a standard Harrier. Don't know a price but leave a message on here if anyone is interested. I'm away in Kos on Friday for a week so won't be able to do anything until early November. Scaling Dam is on the North Yorks/Teesside border.

I see Keith Callaghan, the Harrier designer, fairly regularly- I'll ask him if he knows of anything when I next see him!

Re: harrier/harrier+ dinghy
After a bit if effort, I am now in touch with the seller of the Harrier at scaling dam SC, and hope to look at it in the next couple of weeks.
Its a standard Harrier (not a +). I am wondering if there are any others current racing, and if so, what PY numbers are being used. The seller says he raced it off the same as a laser radial, What does anyone think?

Re: harrier/harrier+ dinghy
I am sailing a Harrier at TATA S C in South Wales using the same handicap as a Firefly. They both had the same py number on the old system. and have not added carbon or plastic sails so are still the same. I am going to Bristol on the 16th if you want to see how I rebuilt mine.
