Mirror (NO LONGER WANTED)

Post by Dictate »

Is there an unloved/unused/unwanted Mirror Dinghy waiting for a kind, loving home?
It would not be prevailed upon to flex its muscles or in any way act agressively. (We would be well matched.)
Over-winter work in the garage would not be a deterent, provided it did not involve cutting-out kilos of fungus-fodder dead wood.
With age beginning to limit my mobility to an increasing extent, this may well be my last dinghy enterprise, so (probably for the first time) I want to spend more time using the boat than working on it!
I live in West Norfolk.
Can anybody help?

There are quite a few on ebay at the moment including this one but Leeds could be a bit of a trek

Thanks Roger, been watching on ebay but as you say, Leeds may be a bit of a drag if "needs some glass" really means new floor panels.
I make no apologies for being cynical!
However, I honestly believe that any description given on this forum would be honest and in good faith.

Mirror 32 was up for sale a while back at Shearwater. Again a bit of a trek but she isn't in bad nick for a boat of her age. I will ask if she is still for sale. Or you could contact the commodore direct as he owns her.

a little bit bigger.... but I've got a Miracle that is not being used, could do with a bit of paint and varnish, but it is solid! (only reason I've kept it!!!)

is it of any interest?

But for the fact that I have so much Mirror "parts and accessories", it might well have been but thanks for the thought.

I have been offered one here at Hunts (St Ives Cambs) which is pretty close to you. I will look at it tomorrow and see if it is worth having/saving.

Thanks Nessa, I would appreciate that, and will not make any decision on anything elsewhere until I have heard from you.

I had a look, along with the lovely Tim our bosun, and we think it's probably not worth doing. You would be putting patches on patches. Sorry.
