kicker thingy needed

Post by Obscured by clouds »

Can't remember what it's called but the plate with a round end that fits in a keyway on the boom to attach the kicker.

I need one for my new retirement project.

Does anyone have one knocking around that they no longer need.

Ta in advance

It is called a key. All the ones you see these days are a flat plate, the cheapest only being a couple of quid. Sounds like you are looking for an older one with a ball on the end, though? I'll take a look, but not hopeful.

Its probably a bit overkill, but it occurs to be that a rigging T terminal might make a good substitute. Especially the ones for ropes which are just the T terminal and a ring. Lot stronger than the cheap plates, but lots more expensive too I expect.
