Merlin Rocket Wanted

Post by hall_g »

Does anyone have a Merlin Rocket in good and original condition with a decent combi that needs a good home? Ideally within 60 miles of St Albans, preferably a Summer Wine, Smokers Satisfcation or one of the NSM designs. I don't mind taking on a bit of cosmetic work, but nothing major please. I don't have a huge budget, but please let me know via hall_g@habsboys.org.uk if you have something which might fit the bill. Many thanks, Gavin

Gavin,

might you be interested in a Smokers?

Is Southampton too far?

Well, 2967 is not a Smokers she is a Hooligan built by Keith Probert circa. 1975. She was designed for the lightweights as opposed to the Smokers which was aimed at the other end of the market. I owned a Hooligan some years ago (2941) - nice boat but very slow tacking. Would not recommend for inland venues.

Ah, thank you, that's really useful to know. It's for a fairly lightweight helm / crew combination, but we do sail inland. The search continues...thanks to everyone for their help and guidance.

My old NSM1 'Lucky Strike', the original, £600 on the merlin website www.merlinrocket.co.uk. Fantastic looking boat, goes well as well, or did.
